We didn’t get a winning streak going this month. It was beautiful on Saturday, but the rain only held off on Sunday until about 11 AM. Let’s hope the move to the third Sunday in May gets us some better weather. And since we have enough participants in the Law Category, that will be recognized for the first time this month. See the high finishers list at the bottom. Congratulations to Jason Hughes for being first in the Law Category and to Fran Terry for taking Production. Working with the Girls with a Gun program is paying off for her.

We had  69 shooters and 13 reshoots for a total of 82 guns.

May 1, 2013 – The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) and Safariland Group (Safariland) announced today a new partnership designed to promote membership and activity in the shooting sports. Safariland is making available a limited number of 50% off discount cards to new and renewing USPSA members.

When I first joined in 1985, there were a lot of great shooters that were willing to help and were very approachable” said Scott Carnahan (USPSA # A-2540), VP for Safariland and Bianchi. “That still remains to this day, USPSA is one of the greatest shooting sports out there and a great way to have fun and meet fellow shooters. Safariland is very proud to support USPSA as we partner to grow the shooting sports and competition shooting."

The discount will apply to the full line of Safariland products including the hugely popular competition belt and holster line.

Western PA Section Championship

There are still plenty of openings in the Western PA Section Championship match, June 14-16. It's not often that we get a Section Championship less than two hours drive away, so please take advantage of the opportunity and fill this match.

Pre-registration is still working. So, to help move things along next month, you will need to be in line by 7:30 to shoot in the 8:00 AM squad.  Don't think you can show up late and get squeezed in. With this many shooters coming in, we have to get started on time.

If you are sure that you will be coming out to shoot on the 8AM squad, then send an email to registration_AT_practicalpistol_DOT_net with "CCPL REGISTRATION" as the subject and include your name, USPSA number, division, Major/Minor and indicate if you are Super Senior, Senior, Junior, Law, Military, Female or none of the above. Get your request in by 6:00 PM on the Saturday of the match weekend and I will have your scoresheet waiting for you on Sunday morning. But, if it’s after 6, send your request in anyway. You might still make it in before I run the stickers.
