First, some public service announcements: Please park on the gravel in front of the pistol bays and the 5-Stand (east of the pistol bays). Leave the parking area in front of the 100 & 200 yard ranges open for club members that are using the rifle ranges. And please do NOT park on the grass. Everyone did a good job this month. I did not have to ask anyone to move.

Second item, the club road speed limit is 10 miles per hour. The Field Trials area has noted some cars exceeding the speed limit, especially after the Steel matches. But this applies to everyone. Some of the trustees have talked about pulling out an old radar gun to check your speed. Don't ask how they plan to pull you over if they catch you speeding.

The weather was great for this weekend. At least I thought so, but a few found it a little cool. We had an excellent turnout, helped by all of the new shooters this month. We had  62 shooters and 23 reshoots for a total of 85 guns.

There were 44 shooters in the Sunday morning squad. Just a reminder, it moves quicker if everyone is doing their part to paste and reset steel. Only the current shooter, the previous shooter and the on-deck shooter should be standing around.

Here's the breakdown by division.

If you still see a U for your classification, then maybe your membership has lapsed. USPSA has instituted a new policy. If you let your membership lapse for more than 60 days, you will lose your classification. If you want to keep your classification, please keep your membership current. Remember, if you sign up for (or renew) a USPSA membership at the match, you can shoot the match for free (that's like getting your USPSA membership for $25).

For the new members, when you receive your first issue of Front Sight, use the PIN on the cover to sign up to receive an e-mail notification when results are posted to the USPSA Local and Major Match results page. Our results are always posted to the USPSA Local Match Results first. It takes a little while to massage the junk HTML pages that come out of EzWinScore.

Don't forget to let me know when you change your membership type. I had two RO's change their membership and I found out when I went to update the classifications. That just slows down the process to post the scores. I have to stop and get confirmation of the membership number changes.

We also have Crooked Creek Conservation Club applications. Ask Bill, Ed or myself for one if you are interested in joining. We hold a pistol practice on Wednesday evening starting about 4:30~5:00 PM for members.

Our final match for 2010 will be on Sunday, October 24th  at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, October 23rd starting at 1:30 PM. You can shoot one gun after setup. And we will continue the practice of running one classifier each match. Now, you don't have any reason not to be classified before that big match.

Signups for Sunday start at 7:30AM. We will run two (2) squads on Sunday at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Please arrive in time to register, gear-up and be ready to shoot at 8:00AM. I will try to design the stages to keep us on schedule so that you don't have to wait for the second squad. The last squad will help with teardown.

Keep up the pressure on the RATs and make sure they understand that UNCONSTITUTIONAL Health Care, Budget Busting & Gun Control will mean a repeat of 1994! Throw the bums out! Flip this House in November 2010!
