Wow, what a crowd this weekend! 46 shooters came out Sunday morning even with the temperatures in the mid 20's. But that brings up a safety reminder. The ground was frozen until late morning, and then it got a bit slippery. You are running on grass that may be a little wet or even muddy. Please wear footwear with some grip to them. We had two gentlemen hit the dirt and one of them couldn't finish. Fortunately, that was the worst of the damage done.

We had  61 shooters and 21 reshoots for a total of 82 guns. Here's the breakdown by division.

We had five (5) new shooters this month: Brian Crawford, Doug Gollan, Renato Santos, William Beverly & Shawn Van Huss.

You may have noticed that I asked if you are a member of Crooked Creek Conservation Club or not. 24 of the 82 guns this weekend are members. I am a little surprised at how few of our shooters are members of CCCC. So, the first poll of the new season. Would it be an inducement to join CCCC if we had a reduced fee for members?

We have Crooked Creek Conservation Club applications. Ask Bill, Ed or myself for one if you are interested in joining. We hold a pistol practice on Wednesday evening starting about 4:30~5:00 PM for members.

The 2011 Ohio Sectional will be held at Miami Rifle & Pistol Club Batavia on May 20-22. More details at http://ohiochampionship.com/ 

The 2011 Area 5 Championship will be held at PASA Park in Barry, IL on June 16-19. More details at http://www.a5match.info/ 

Of those of you who are interested in shooting either/both of these matches, do you need to get classified before the match? Send me an email if you would like us to run a Special Classifier in April by March 26. If I get enough responses, we'll run it.

Our next match will be on Sunday, April 24^th  at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, April 23^rd starting at 1:30 PM. You can shoot one gun after setup. And we will continue the practice of running one classifier each match. Now, you don't have any reason not to be classified before that big match.

Signups for Sunday start at 7:30AM. We will run two (2) squads on Sunday at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Please arrive in time to register, gear-up and be ready to shoot at 8:00AM. I will try to design the stages to keep us on schedule so that you don't have to wait for the second squad. The last squad will help with teardown.
