September 30, 2007 Newsletter

Well, we broke even for September. The skies were clear this weekend and the temperatures were mild for this late in the season. So, why did we have such a low turnout? Was it the start of Bow Season? The 3-Gun match down at Greenport? Forgot because it wasn't the second Sunday? Please let me know so I can make a better schedule next year. We had 41 shooters and 13 reshoots for a total of 54 guns.

We had 3 new shooters this month: Jonathan Henry, Tim Rothlisberger and Colman Lalka.

If you sign up for (or renew) USPSA membership at the match, you can shoot the match for free (that's like getting your USPSA membership for $25). For the new members, when you receive your first issue of Front Sight, use the PIN on the cover to sign up to receive e-mail notification when results are posted to the USPSA Local and Major Match results page. Our results are always posted to the USPSA Local Match Results first. It takes a little while to massage the HTML pages that come out of EzWinScore. USPSA has updated the Classifiers for August. New USPSA members, please check your classifications.

We also have Crooked Creek Conservation Club applications. Ask Bill, Ed or myself for one if you are interested in joining. We hold a pistol practice on Wednesday evening starting about 4:00 PM for members.

Our last match of the year will be on Sunday, October 14th at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, October 13th starting at 1:30 PM. 

Signups for Sunday start at 7:30AM. We will run up to three squads on Sunday at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. We'll only run the 1:00 PM squad if we have at least 12 shooters signed up. Please arrive in time to get into a squad. The last squad will help with teardown.
