June 11, 2006 Newsletter

We had beautiful weather this weekend. Lots of sun and not too warm. I don't know if it was the weather or Don Helwick's advertising campaign, but we did have a lot of new shooters. Final tally, 55 shooters and 10 reshoots for a total of 65 guns. Thanks very much to all who helped to set up and tear down.

We had 13 new shooters this month, Richard Cukelj, Tom Allen, Dan Patterson, Rusty West, Matt Dylewski, Joe Edwards, Greg Currie, Jon C. Paige, Mike Burner, Scott Erwin, Bryan Williams, Bill List and Jerry Tuscano. Also, welcome back John Kloock came back out after taking a few years off.

I would like to remind everyone (especially our new shooters) that you can join or renew your USPSA membership at the match and shoot the match for free. That's like getting your annual membership for $25.00. Also as a member, you can get rid of that U classification and compete against other shooters in your class. Ask for an application at the next match.

Back by popular demand, I ordered more J.R.'s Muff Sweats and they will be available at the registration desk for $13 per pair. They're $14.95 + S&H if you order them direct.

Time for my annual opinion poll. What do you think, should we reduce the number and complexity of the stages to get you done quicker, or do you like how we are doing it now? Lines are open 24/7, drop me an e-mail to stats@practicalpistol.net and let me know what you want.

Our next match will be on Sunday, July 9th at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, July 8th. We'll meet at 1:30 PM so we can get loaded up and be on the range at 2:00 PM. You can shoot one gun after setup is complete. Signups for Sunday start at 9:00 AM with final registration at 2:00 PM. Note the later start time for July only is due to the club activities and the camper's asking for a little extra time to sleep in that morning.
