I think I should explain what happened to TRW Practical Pistol Shooters. Well about the middle of May I got a call from a TRW Inc. lawyer and a their copyright and trademark people. They told me they did not want us to use TRW in our name or anything else. Well I came to the brilliant conclusion that we could not afford a legal battle with TRW. So Atto and I roller over and changed our name to NEOPL [North Eastern Ohio Pistol League]. I don’t think it was fair but they have all the lawyers/money and we don’t. We also have changed or Web site address (URL)

Our June match had 41 competitors, our second largest turnout. Congratulations to Jeff and Tammy Scott for their first and second place finishes. Seems these two may practice a lot together. Rounding out the top five were Bill Raines, Denny Michali, and Joe Culek. No surprises here. Keep an eye out for John Thompson, one our newer shooters who continues to improve at a fast rate, as he finished ninth with a 65 percent overall rating.

Also congratulations are in store for Andy Henry for earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from CWRU. Job well done.

Finally, we would like to extend a welcome to some of our newest shooters: Dan Burdecki, Dave Lindquist, Walter and June Paris, and Patrick Rowe. Hope to see you all at our next match.

Our next NEOPL IPSC meet is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 1998. We plan on having another "Big Field" course and something a little bit out of the ordinary for our club. Plan on being there.
